The platform of the Common Agenda already includes eight political parties and the number of these will grow, said the executive secretary of the Party of Socialists Vlad Batrîncea. According to the politician, in the Common Agenda’s meetings they try to identify solutions to the problems experienced by society. The parliamentary and extraparliamentary opposition also notifies the foreign partners when the government commits abuses. If the members of the Common Agenda decide in favor of antigovernment protests, the PSRM will take part in these, IPN reports.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament noted that the platform of the Common Agency, which consists of parliamentary and extraparliamentary parties, is designed to offer an alternative to the current government and to notify the international community of deviations from the law committed by the government. In the last meeting of the Common Agenda, it was decided to notify the Venice Commission of the new Electoral Code provisions that were given a first reading by Parliament.
“The Common Agenda was created because the realities required so, because the government is unable to communicate with the opposition. Currently, the platform includes eight political parties but the figure will yet grow as there are parties that want to join in. The meeting last week was attended by a number of experts. The success of this platform resides in the fact that it identifies a national consensus. Most of the people are dissatisfied with the current government’s actions and the platform will therefore come with concrete solutions to the problems encountered by society,” Vlad Batrîncea stated in the program “New Week with Anatolie Golea” on TV8 channel.
The Socialist heavyweight said most of the PSRM members are persecuted and criminal cases are started against Socialist MPs, while members of the PSRM from districts are forced to leave the party.
“Pressure is being exerted on our parliamentary group. Criminal cases were started against half of our MPs but these fabricated cases have no substance. Pressure is being exerted on our mates from regions for them to leave the party and to publicly announce this. But we do not make victims of ourselves and avoid cheap PR. People’s conversations are illegally wiretapped and their families are being pressed, which is against the rules in a democratic society,” said the MP.
Vlad Batrîncea excluded any divergence between the administration of the PSRM and the party’s president of honor Igor Dodon.
“The president of honor of the PSRM Igor Dodon supports all the decisions taken by the National Council. We do not experience any problems with Igor Dodon. We have problems with the regime. Our party has internal rules. We were authorized by the National Council to take part in the meetings of the Common Agenda. If the government remains blind, the platform will take the necessary decisions together with the other members of the Common Agenda. We do not claim to be the leaders of this platform. If it is decided to stage protests, we will do so. But we also have our separate party agenda. We will mount protests separately too. We have experience as we organized over 600 protests,” stated the executive secretary of the PSRM.
