Vitalie Vrabie named new secretary of PDM
Former Minister of Defense Vitalie Vrabie was elected as secretary
general of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) on January 29. The
decision was taken in the meeting of the PDM National Council, which
took place behind closed doors, Info-Prim Neo reports.
After the meeting, the leader of the PDM Marian Lupu said they discussed
organizational subjects. The Council reexamined the composition of the
territorial organizations. Some of the persons were included, while
others excluded, the Democratic leader said, without giving details.
The Democrats also discussed issues concerning the local elections, but,
according to Marian Lupu, a candidate who will run for mayor of Chisinau
has not been yet identified. "We do not make a difference between the
candidates for mayors of Chisinau, Balti and of other settlements. We
regard things as a whole because the country represents all the levels
of the local public administration. We will choose a candidate for mayor
of Chisinau when we call the meetings of the party's representative
forums that will approve these candidates," said the PDM leader.
