Vitalie Voznoi: I vote for maximum transparency in Chisinau

The candidate for mayor of Chisinau, representing the "European Left" Political Party, Vitalie Voznoi, votes for maximum transparency in Chisinau but also for "having a city where one can trust the leadership". The statement was made by the candidate a few moments before exercising his right to vote, IPN reports.

"Even on the day of the elections, the law is broken by candidates and the Romanian prime minister urges citizens to go to the polls," said Vitalie Voznoi.

Arriving at the polling station, a person who provided the live broadcast of the voting process was denied the right to make video footage. In this context, the candidate was dissatisfied that not all candidates are granted the same rights, as in the case of some candidates the video recording is allowed, while in other cases not.

For general mayor of Chisinau municipality, 18 candidates are competing. As general mayor of Chisinau municipality shall be elected the candidate who has accumulated 50% + one vote. If none of the candidates manages to cross this threshold, the second round of elections will be organized with the first two candidates, the winner being the one who has accumulated the greatest number of votes.
