Vitalie Vovc: In general MY YEAR 2017 was very good

With good and bad moments, the year 2017 is coming to an end and the time is now inopportune to sum up. On this occasion, IPN set the goal of finding out how 2017 was for Moldovans from the country and abroad; if it was the year when they decided to build the future at home or became more determined to leave; if it was the year when they started or closed a business or experienced something special. Today we will find out how 2017 was for Moldovan writer and publicist who settled in France Vitalie Vovc, consultant on commercial flow organization.

“Only several days remained of 2017 and this year will also go down the …history given that the new year starts on a Monday, not on a Sunday. I’m now in a difficulty as I was asked to sum up the results of the year, but I don’t really like doing this. In childhood, I was taught that “blowing your own trumpet only brings strife” and speaking about you own year, when in general it was a good year, is somehow embarrassing, especially if I think about those who are sadder than we,” stated writer Vitalie Vovc, noting that the year that has passed was rather worrisome for everybody, but he was able to bring things in order and to show everyone “who is who”.

It was the year when particular tendencies crystalized and particular characters that appeared during the past two-three years formed better. This does not mean that 2018 will be an easy year, especially in Moldova, given that this is an electoral year, considers Vitalie Vovc.

“Let’s yet return to my humble person. If I already accepted, I will present my personal accomplishments. 2017 was a special year for me. First of all, our younger son when to kindergarten and it seems that he likes going there. It is an important step for him and his courage fascinates us. My older daughter is also commended at school and she has fun learning rather well. She started to attend the music school and will perform at the small yearend concert. They are both healthy and grow up and delight us. My wife, Georgeta Cislaru, became Doctor Habilitate at the Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 University in November and this event mobilized us all a good part of the year. You will say that these things are not about me, but you should know that there are no other more important things for me than these!” confessed Vitalie Vovc. He noted that if nothing else had happened to him except these, he would have considered the year a successful one anyway! “All the rest is just a bonus.”

In 2017, Vitalie Vovc was promoted at the consulting company where he works and earns his living. But this is something about which he didn’t tell the general public and does not think that this is very interesting. His first book has been published this year at the Publishing House “Prut” of Chisinau. “Orange alert or Snowstorms in parts” is a collection of 49 short texts – essays, novels, recollections and tales – about the author, his forerunners, Moldova and its people. The book has been launched this summer in Chisinau and all the issued copies have been already used up as the number was probably too low...

“I’m glad, but it is frustrating anyway as I didn’t manage to even “Cucurigu!” and the evening already came. The publishing house could be merciful and publish a new set in 2018. On the occasion of the launch, I spent a very intense week in Chisinau on the occasion of the launch, with interesting meetings and discussions, many of which could be followed in the media space. In 2017, the publishing house “Vinea” accepted (and awarded!) another manuscript of mine, of poetry. This will be issued in 2018 in double variant, in Romanian and French. We plan with the publishing house to launch them at the Paris Book Fair next March. The volume is entitled “And in reality it happened the following...”, said the writer.

2017 was the year when he worked on different smaller or bigger projects about which he cares a lot yet. He continued to publish the weekly on Deschide.md (project launched in 2014!) where he comments on the news of the week in Moldova each Friday. Recently, he added a video variant on Youtube called “Assumed” with Vitalie Vovc”. He continued to moderate the group “Moldova People” on Facebook (created 7 years ago!). The small daily rubric “Phrase form midnight” celebrated its fifth anniversary. He also continued to write on his blog that he launched in 2010. All these kept him on the alert and he thinks the situation will be much the same in 2018. “I also planted some thoughts and ideas here and there and hope some of them will materialize in 2018. In general, it was a very good year for me. I wish everyone a happy 2018! Health, as this is the most necessary thing, happy and joyful moments near the dear ones and.. perseverance!”, said Vitalie Vovc.
