Vitalie Pirlog submitted his resignation from the post of director of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) to the Parliament’s secretariat, IPN reports, with reference to the legislature’s press service.
“The decision to vacate the post of SIS director and to further work only on the INTERPOL dimension is based on the wish to continue those important reforms in whose initiation I took part within the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files,” it is said in the letter.
The resignation is being examined by the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities.
Vitalie Pirlog was named director of the Security and Intelligence Service for a five-year term by Parliament on December 21, 2017.
