Vitalie Nagachevski defects from PLDM, Update
Vitalie Nagachevski left the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM). The jurist has told Info-Prim Neo that some of his activities as a lawyer can damage the image of the party given the abilities of certain players and political analysts to interpret the events, provoking dissension.
Nagachevski said he does not intent to return to politics in the near future, stressing joining other parties is out of the question.
“It is evident that if I represent businessman Vlad Plahotniuc in court, this will be to the PLDM's disadvantage. In order to avoid such a situation, I left the party,” the lawyer said.
Vitalie Nagachevski also referred to Petru Popovich's case that is exploited by the opponents of the Liberal-Democrats. “I'm sure that there will be other cases. That's why I decided to go out of politics,” the former MP said.
Former presidential adviser Sergiu Mocanu, supported by a number of businessmen, accused Vlad Plahotniuc of controlling the state institutions, having influence on the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration, and of financing the Democratic Party.
