Vitalie Marinuța chosen president of Ecologist Green Party

Vitalie Marinuța was elected as president of the Ecologist Green Party (PVE) of Moldova, while former president Anatolie Prohnitski as first vice president in the party’s seventh Extraordinary Congress on January 26, IPN reports.

In a press release, the party said Vitalie Marinuța was proposed for the post by ex-president Anatolie Prohnitski, who earlier requested his fellows to change the administration so as to give a new impetus to the development of the PVE.

During the past two years, Vitalie Marinuța had served as the party’s secretary general.

The new president said he will be making every effort for the Green Ecologist Party to become the mouthpiece of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova not only in the environmental protection sector, but in all the areas that affect the free and prosperous future of the people and the country.

The Congress also elected the new composition of the National Council, which, for its part, chose the new administration and composition of the Standing Bureau.
