The Government will submit the visa abolition agreement signed with Serbia in December 2013 to Parliament for ratification, IPN reports.
After the document is ratified by the legislative bodies of the two countries, the citizens of the signatory states will not need to get a visa for entering, crossing or remaining temporarily on the territory of the other state for a period of 90 days within sixth months of the first entry. The abolition of the visa requirements does not yet allow becoming employed.
Moldova is annually visited by 500-600 citizens of Serbia. The authorities hope the abolition of the visa regime will contribute to strengthening the economic cooperation between the two states.
Currently, the citizens of Moldovan can travel visa free to about 60 countries.
