The lifting of the state of emergency on May 15 does not mean the end of the red alert issued by the public health system. “Nobody annulled the alert and this implies a series of measures that should be respected for a particular period of time,” Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu stated in a news conference on May 8.
IPN quoted the minister as saying that some of the restrictions will be applied during May 15-June 1, while others will be in force until June 30 or even until the end of this year. The adjustment of the measures will depend on the epidemiological situation.
Viorica Dumbrăveanu noted the development of the epidemiological situation depends on everyone’s behavior. The call to stay at home is valid for those who form part of the risk groups. It is further recommend to maintain social distancing, hand hygiene and coughing culture. In particular conditions, the wearing of masks is mandatory.
Nicolae Furtună, director of the National Public Health Agency, said the people should get used to living with COVID-19. A new wave will come and all the rules related to the protection measures will further influence the situation.
