Political analyst Viorel Cibotaru hopes that in 2015 the politicians will redeem themselves before the people whose trust they lost. He told IPN that he is optimistic about the appointment of a new Cabinet by the end of the winter holidays.
“I'm an optimistic person and I think that in 2015, under the pressure of the EU Association Agreement, the Moldovan politicians will finally fulfill the promises they made to society and foreign partners and will improve the quality of governance”, said the analyst.
According to Cibotaru, Moldovan laws have been adjusted in recent years thanks to the activism of analysts and civil society so that politicians can finally adopt European values and continue the started reforms. “I hope that in 2015 the politicians will redeem themselves in front of the people and will regain their trust through actions, not words”, said the expert.
He doesn't think that there will be any destabilization and tensions because the government coalition hasn't been formed yet. Moreover, he is confident that by the end of the winter holidays, there will be a candidate for the seat of Prime Minister and a Cabinet ready to be voted by the Parliament. Additionally, by the end of January the Parliament leadership ought to be elected as well.
