Viorel Bologan qualifies for second round
Moldovan chess player Viorel Bologan qualified Sunday for the second round of the World Chess Cup taking place in the Russian town of Khanty-Mansiisk, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the first round, Bologan drew the second match with Egypt's Ahmed Adly, but won the stage by 1.5-0.5. Forty-five participants went through to the next stage of the competition. Another 19 participants will become known as a result of additional games.
A number of 128 chess players from 40 countries are participating in the World Chess Cup.
