The Chisinau Theater “Eugene Ionesco” in the evening of November 7 presented the play “Violence, a love story”, which is a choreographic drama in continuous movement and transformation where the words are not so important. The theater’s artistic director Petru Vutcarau said this is the first experience of the kind of the troupe of “Eugene Ionesco” and this is also the first cooperation with Benno Voorham from Sweden, who is a well-known choreographer in the world of modern dance in Europe, IPN reports.
“I’m very glad and satisfied that the repertoire of the Theater “Eugene Ionesco” now includes such a performance. This is an experiment, something new and unordinary for us, for the troupe and for Chisinau as well,” stated Petru Vutcarau. The message of the play is that in this world, where the presence of violence is more marked, every person must understand that the salvation is to be kind, attentive and tolerant towards each other. “The language of the stage is very diverse and is not as simple as it seems. We must no stop at what we did yesterday, but must move on and discover new things,” added the artistic director.
Actress Maia Grosu said it is not so easy to express thoughts and ideas by dance and movements, but the efforts and courage produced the expected result in the end. “The message must be transmitted naturally and easily. The words are often not heard, but the gestures, looks and energy can show much more,” she stated.
Acres Irena Boclinca noted that she experienced strange emotions on the stage because this play is something new for the public. “Now, judging by the reactions, I know that it was good,” said the actress, adding that the main message transmitted was an encouragement for the people to offer more affection and love to the dear people.
The play will be presented again at “Eugene Ionesco” Theater on November 8 and 9, at 6:30pm.
