Villages around Lipcani are facing an acute shortage of teachers, opinion

“Gheorghe Asachi” College in Lipcani focuses on the vocation of teacher while promoting the fundamental values of education and providing high-quality education, adapted to modern trends and perspectives in the field of education. These aspects were highlighted by the teaching staff, students and parents, who expressed their concern about the reorganization of the institution by merging with the Balti Teacher-Training College. The director of the college in Lipcani, Daniela Didic, stressed that the villages around the city are facing an acute shortage of teachers and urgently need specialists. The situation can be remedied with the involvement of college graduates.

The institution’s director, Daniela Didic, said that graduating from a college is a first step in personality development, hiring a young specialist and training him. The specialist who has a college degree can get a job and, based on the earned income, can secure future so that they can continue their studies, create a family and stay in the country. “We need our young people to stay, not to leave,” the college director said at a press conference at IPN.

D
aniela Didic said she graduated from the college, obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and decided to remain at home to contribute to the development of Moldova. She noted that during classes, she always urges students to work at home, near their parents. The good students of the college, after internship, are in demand at work. “Keep our legal identity and allow us to have admission for 2024, according to the state order. Give us a chance to prove that the institution will indeed cope with all the requirements,” said the director, addressing the central authorities.

Tatiana Gutan, a teacher, said she has a ninth grader this year who wanted to become a teacher, to study the Early Education specialty, but now she is disoriented. “The children are totally disappointed and do not know what to do, where to continue their studies. Not only this child is in such a situation. There are more children in such a situation in our area, from Briceni, Edinet, Donduseni, Drochia districts, who study at our college,” said the teacher.

The head of Briceni district, Dorin Pavaloi, said that over 50% of the students who study today at “Gheorghe Asachi” College in Lipcani will not return to studies if the college is merged with the institution in Balti. Subsequently, these students will begin to look for a source of livelihood and will migrate abroad.
