The building of the former ministerial school of Parjolteni village of Calarasi district will be dismantled and taken to the Village Museum of Chisinau for conservation. The school’s building dates from the 19th century and was included in the Register of National Heritage, IPN reports.
Acting Deputy Minister of Culture Gheorghe Postica told a news conference that the building of the former ministerial school is in a deplorable state and the problem of conserving the architectural monument has been discussed for many years.
“The school’s building will be brought to the Village Museum. We consider that the project must be supported because we risk losing this important architectural monument,” stated Gheorghe Postica. The initiative was financed with 60,000 lei from the state budget.
The Village Museum is an open-air ethnographic museum that reconstructs the Bessarabian village of the 18th – 19th century. It now includes only one heritage object – the Wooden Church of Sudarea, Donduseni.
