Prime Minister Pavel Filip raised the subject of vignette payment at border crossing points in the February 8 meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.
“I asked to determine what’s going on in the customs posts when lines are formed there owing to the vignette payment procedure. I asked the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure and the Customs Service to identify solutions for the vignette payment procedure not to represent a barrier when crossing the border,” stated the Premier.
In this connection, Pavel Filip was informed about the measures taken to simplify the mechanism of collecting the road tax (vignette). Thus, as of February 20, 2017, the vignette could be paid online and at all the branches of Moldova-Agroindbank, which has offices at border crossing points and all over the country.
Also, the Customs Service will check the possession of vignettes only when leaving the country. An e-vignette system will be implemented to fully eliminate the problems related to the vignette.
