Video surveillance cameras set up at Christmas Bazaar

The Government decided to allocate another 3 million lei for organizing the Christmas Bazaar that will take place during December 15 - January 15. A part of the money is allocated for installing a video surveillance system for ensuring the security of visitors, IPN reports.

According to Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc, the surveillance cameras are designed to ensure the security of visitors given the events that happened in Strasbourg.

Under a Government decision, the organizer of the event ascertained the necessity of installing two children’s carousels in the recreational complex. Money is also needed for repairing and changing the roof of 22 wooden cottages.

Earlier, the Cabinet approved costs of 8 million lei for organizing the second Christmas Bazaar.

There will be set up two stages – one for children’s artistic groups from all over the country and one for artists who will create the atmosphere on the weekend evenings. The children will be able to make a tour of the ‘enchanted town’ by the winter holidays’ train that will be a new entertaining element.

This year, the visitors of the Christmas Bazaar will be able to admire the Nativity Scene that will be set up in the yard of the Museum of Arts.

A fir tree from the Carpathian Mountains, donated by the Government of Romania, was brought to the Christmas Bazaar based on 31 August St, as last year.

The Christmas Bazaar will be inaugurated on December 15, starting at 6pm.
