Video lessons available to Studii.md users

To ensure the continuity of the educational process under the conditions of quarantine and state of emergency, the Studii.md project has developed new features meant to make e-learning as effective as possible. All the educational institutions of Moldova can join the online platform Studii.md and implement modern distance learning technologies, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the project.

Teachers already have the opportunity to upload video lessons from a PC or smartphone, attach learning support materials to homework, leave comments with explanations and notes. Attached data, including video materials, are available for viewing to all students in the class on the lesson page. There is a comment feature available for students. They can also ask questions, attach files with completed homework and send them to teachers to be checked.

Teachers will be able to explain difficult points, give comments and draw students’ attention to important details. In general, training with Studii.md will not differ from the normal class format. After checking homework, the teacher will be able to give marks in the electronic gradebook, also located on the Studii.md platform.

In addition, the platform users have access to the electronic agendas and gradebooks, the lesson schedule. Moreover, the administration has the option to generate periodic statistical reports.

Studii.md is an online school platform developed by Simpals company with the support and contribution of UNDP, as well as Tekwill ICT Excellence Center. This project aims to modernize the educational process and gradually transfer it into electronic format.

Despite the unstable epidemiological situation in Moldova, many schools in the country made the decision not to disrupt the educational process, but to connect to the Studii.md system and shift to distance learning.

To date, 25 schools use the Studii.md online platform, and another 108 schools have applied for connection. In 40 schools, student registration and collection of all necessary data has already begun.

In connection with the measures taken to stop the spread of the COVID-19 infection and the state of emergency declared in Moldova, all the educational institutions of the country were placed in quarantine. More than 300,000 students now study at primary and secondary schools and lyceums in Moldova.
