The reforms in justice haven’t been implemented fully. This is proven by the large number of complaints submitted by people to the Ministry of Justice, Minister Victoria Iftodi stated in the program “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
According to the minister, the lack of the justifications of court judgments is one of the biggest problems faced by the citizens in the justice sector. “We are making effort to ensure transparency in justice. An important reform is the one that refers to the publication of court judgments,” she said.
Victoria Iftodi noted that making sure that the laws promoted by the Government are adopted and enjoy political support is one of the biggest challenges in her tenure. Another goal is to make certain that the legal system players are active and receptive to the reforms that are to be done.
Political analyst Corneliu Ciurea said the political dimension of the justice sector reform is the most serious challenge for Victoria Iftodi in her new post. The success of this reform depends greatly on the political actions. There are no clear indicators for assessing the success of the reform. “The reforms here are done gradually and the people in this system should not be driven from one side to another. They should know that these changes that will anyway take place will not be fatal for them,” stated the analyst.
