Victor Pușcaș passed away. MPs observe moment of silence

Victor Pușcaș has died. Friday’s sitting of Parliament started with a moment of silence in memory of the ex-president of the Constitutional Court, who also served as first deputy speaker of Parliament, IPN reports.

“Beyond the political values we share and promote, beyond our misunderstandings, our feelings of friendship, there are much more important notions in our life and these are birth, life and death. Last night I learned the sad news about the death of Victor Pușcas – renowned jurist, former president of the Supreme Court of Justice, former deputy speaker of the Independence Parliament, former president of the Constitutional Court,” PAS MP Mihail Druță stated in Parliament.

Victor Pușcaș was born on July 18, 1943 in Arionești village of Dondușeni district. A jurist by profession, he held the posts of chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the MSSR, minister for relations with Parliament, president of the Supreme Court of Justice, president of the Superior Council of Magistracy and president of the Constitutional Court.

The farewell ceremony and the funeral will be held at the Palace of the Republic on June 24, starting at 10am. He will be later buried at the Central Cemetery situated on Armenească St in Chisinau.
