The provoking and intimidating actions of the Transnistrian administration will not determine Chisinau to abandon the citizens from Transnistria, acting Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov said in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
“In the Transnistrian region there are over 300,000 citizens with Moldovan nationality. Many of these have to hide this thing from the separatist authorities. We cannot abandon them. We also do not want the socioeconomic situation to worsen and get out of control because our citizens would be affected,” stated Osipov.
Speaking about the letter with threats against Chisinau, addressed by Transnistria’s political representative Nina Shtanski to a number of embassies working in Chisinau, Victor Osipov said this is a hysterical gesture dominated by emotions, which is not worth being commented on. “I do not understand why Shtanski had to send such a letter. Sincerely speaking, we didn’t expect such a thing after several months of constructive discussions with Tiraspol,” he stated.
However, the Moldovan authorities cannot neglect this letter as it shows that the state of affairs there is serious. “We do not want the situation to get out of control and the necessity to use force to appear,” said the Acting Deputy Premier, who is the Chief Negotiator to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks on behalf of Chisinau.
