{Info-Prim Neo News Agency is conducting an opinion poll among leaders of the parties running in elections. The subject of the poll is corruption in Moldova and solutions for fighting it. All the participants were asked two similar questions. This time, the answers are given by Victor Osipov, spokesman for the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN), candidate on behalf of the party.} [ - What does the party that you represent think about corruption in Moldova?] - The AMN, as party that represented the Opposition during the whole term in office of the current legislature, identified many of the power’s actions aimed at satisfying corrupt interests even in the Parliament. These are commonly known cases where the new laws favored the appropriation of public property by persons of the red-orange coalition like the denationalization of the governmental newspapers or the broadcasting reform carried out exclusively with the aim of appropriating the municipal public stations Euro TV Chisinau and Antena C. There are also less known cases, but all of them point to the existence of corruption at the highest levels of the current power, a concrescence to the level where the law is made for such interests, not mentioning the decisions of the Government or even of the Presidential Office. The high-level corruption in Moldova is the most serious problem, followed by the machinations in the public acquisitions sector aimed at helping the firms protected by the Communists to take millions from the public money, and the bribe offered to the police officer or teacher. According to expert assessments, the privatizations made by the Government during the last few months caused losses of about 1.3 billion lei to the state. [ - What will the PSD do to combat corruption if it comes to power?] - The Moldova Noastra Alliance has a whole packet of solutions for fighting corruption – one of its priorities. These solutions include the ensurance of transparency in the public acquisitions sector. The illegal schemes used by the present Governments and its ‘protégées’ will be investigated immediately after the coming to power of the new government so that the people know the real size of the misappropriations and economic crimes hidden by the Communist government. We will do everything possible, by legal means, to recover the money lost as a result of these corrupt schemes so that the real owners get back the businesses and property taken away from them by blackmail, while the recovered money will be used to raise the pensions and salaries. We must increase salaries in the budget sector so as to minimize the temptation to take bribe and make the people realize that they can lose their jobs by such acts. As we consider that the Voronin clan is the major organization of corruption in Moldova, the first solution is now in the hands of the voters and they can make use of it in the April 5 elections.
