Greco-Roman wrestler Victor Ciobanu scored four victories at the Zagreb Open tournament and won a silver medal in the 60 kg weight category, IPN reports.
He defeated Hassan Alharthi of Saudi Arabia, Leo Tudezka of France, Hafizov Ildar of the U.S. and Bulgaria’s Edmond Nazaryan. In the final, Ciobanu lost to Sadyk Lalaev, who represented the team of individual neutral athletes.
Previously, Mariana Draguțan (55 kg), Anastasia Nikita (57 kg) and Mariana Cherdivara-Eşanu (59 kg) also climbed on to the winner’s rostrum. Nikita won bronze after she was defeated only by the future winner of the 57 kg weight category, China’s Kexin Hong.
