The Social-Political Movement "Forța Nouă" candidate for the position of mayor of Chișinău, Victor Chironda, urged the residents of Chișinău to vote for a "City Hall that works for the people" and to vote for a "Municipal Council that will really solve the issues of Chișinău". According to him, on October 20, citizens will have to make a choice "not between politicians or parties, but between city problems and the interests of politicians".
"Together with the Forța Nouă team, we urge you to forget about politics and geopolitics in these elections. Disregard the calculations of politicians, only take into account your interests. Vote for people who really know, can and will solve the issues of this city. Vote Victor Chironda, vote the Forța Nouă team, number five and number eight in the paper ballot", said the candidate in a press conference, held today, October 18, in front of the City Hall.
The mayoral hopeful said that it is encouraging that this election cycle was the first one in which issues were discussed, while in previous election cycles, the focus was on politics and geopolitics, thus the issues of the municipality were ignored. In his opinion, it is sad that some candidates for mayor did not wish to participate in open electoral debates with other candidates. "Avoiding debates does not inspire confidence and I am sure that the residents of Chișinău will penalize this behavior", said Victor Chironda.
Sergiu Tofilat, candidate for the CMC, said that the City Hall must provide services to the people for the taxes it collects. Currently, in his opinion, things are degrading at the municipal level and "We feel this on our own skin - traffic jams, damaged sidewalks, unbearable odor, children poisoned with expired food, etc.". "We want to live in a comfortable city, we don't want to leave the country. We want to live here, in Chișinău, and that's why we decided to get involved", said Sergiu Tofilat.
