Victor Bodiu starts campaign with slogan “Together for Chisinau!”

Victor Bodiu, the Liberal Democratic Party's candidate for mayor of Chisinau, Thursday opened his election campaign with the slogan “Together for Chisinau!”. He promised he will make sure that the residents of Chisinau have well-paid jobs, good streets, more green areas, heat and drinking water at reasonable prices. He also said he will not respond to opponents' attacks and criticism and will not accept to be involved in a dirty campaign, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We will present the people our view on how the municipality of Chisinau should be modernized. We offer the people a manager for the City Hall, efficient and modern administration of the city, and a different approach to the real problems faced by the inhabitants of Chisinau,” Victor Bodiu said. He stressed that his team will concentrate on the creation of new workplaces. There will be launched three new industrial areas and attracted foreign investment for opening 15 industrial companies in the city and its suburbs. As a result, there will be cratered about 25,000 new workplaces. Victor Bodiu also said that water meters will be installed in every apartment and individual thermal units in every building. There will be signed individual contracts for the supply of public utilities. Consequently, the dwellers will pay by 20% less for heat and hot water. As to the roads, Victor Bodiu pledged to raise, in partnership with the Government, advantageous loans repayable in 20-25 years and international grants to fully repair the main streets of Chisinau. He also promised to completely light the streets and set up traffic lights at all the intersections where the risk of accidents is higher. “We will stop the demolition of the historical buildings and remove the numerous kiosks,” Victor Bodiu said. PLDM first vice president Iurie Leanca said Victor Bodiu loves Chisinau and knows what to do to transform it into a European capital as he was born in the capital city and is a very good manager. Ghenadie Dumanschi, chairman of the Chisinau Municipal council, said the Liberal-Democrat team will make effort to strengthen the relations with the Government, the academic circles and civil society and will make sure that the city develops, is prosperous and safe. Deputy Minister of Education Loretta Handrabura, who is a PLDM candidate for Chisinau councilor, said the quality of the infrastructure, transport, public social protection and health services determines the quality of life in Chisinau. The PLDM's team aims to solve the problems encountered in the education system, develop public-private partnerships to implement projects in the field and ensure disabled children's access to education. Victor Bodiu will be under No. 2 in the ballots for mayor of Chisinau. In the ballots for the Chisinau Municipal Council, the PLDM will be the third. The final order in the ballots will be decided by draw when the candidates are registered by the Chisinau district electoral council.
