The Ministry of Finance will allot 9 million to local authorities in order to compensate the rehabilitated victims of political repression for their seized goods. Overall, 93 people from 16 localities will receive compensations, IPN reports.

According to a government decision from June 5, 2007, the reimbursement of the value of seized goods via compensations is done for goods that have been destroyed or that cannot be restored, at the request of beneficiaries. If the value of goods is under 200,000 lei, the compensation can be paid in installments over 3 years. If the sum is higher, it will be paid over 5 years.

The money alloted by the government decision today, August 23, covers the 5^th installment for compensation recipients from 2013, the 4^th for beneficiaries from 2014 and the 3^rd for beneficiaries from 2015.
