The victims of political repression will be paid compensations for the property that was confiscated, nationalized or taken away from them in a different way. Such a decision was taken by the Cabinet on June 28, IPN reports.
More than 13 million lei will be allocated from the state budget for the purpose. Compensations will be provided to 161 victims of political repression.
If the value of property does not exceed 200,000 lei, the compensation will be paid in installments within three years. If its is higher, the period will be up to five years.
