The victims of political repression will benefit from a package of priority medical services and from a rise in the state monthly allowance. This is provided in a draft decision approved by the Cabinet on July 4, IPN reports.

The package of priority medical services includes the annual prophylactic medical examination at the family doctor, laboratory and instrumental investigations and the annual rehabilitation treatment at the Hospital of the Curative and Rehabilitation Association of the State Chancellery.

The victims of political repression will also benefit from a 50% discount off the price of the rehabilitation ticket, as opposed to 30% until now. The reduction will be of 3,250 lei, as against the previous reduction of 1,950 lei.

Also, the state monthly allowance for this category of persons will be raised by 400 lei to 500 lei. The victims of political repression also receive an annual lump sum. In 2018 this is 1,000 lei per beneficiary.

The approved measures will start to be applied on September 1, 2018.
