The materials about the relations between the head of the Main State Tax Inspectorate Nicolae Vicol and a number of public persons will be analyzed by the prosecutors in two separate cases, IPN reports.
In a communiqué, the Prosecutor General’s Office said the decision was taken with a view to not delaying the investigation over the main case started against Nicolae Vicol, who is accused of passive corruption, abuse of power and violation of the inviolability of the private life.
Nicolae Vicol as well as Premier designate Vlad Filat, acting Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean and Liberal-Democratic MP Valeriu Strelet appeared in a number of audio recordings that were presented as wiretaps. In those conversations, Nicolae Vicol is instructed to exert fiscal pressure on some of the companies and to favor others.
