Stability, clear rules and correctness are the most important things that the European Union can offer to Moldova. The day of June 27, when the Association Agreement will be signed, is important both for Moldova and the EU, Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Transport Siim Kallas said in a meeting with Head of Parliament Igor Corman, IPN reports.

According to the Parliament’s press service, the European official said that Moldova is an important country for the European neighborhood policy. The EU will continue to support Moldova by concrete projects, while the efficient use of the EU’s financial support will contribute to modernizing the sectors of the national economy.

Igor Corman said the visits by European officials to Chisinau are welcome in the context of the efforts made by the authorities to explain the benefits of the European integration to the people. “We need national consensus to continue our country’s European course. We do not have another alternative for developing Moldova,” said the Speaker.

He added that the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU was an important step towards Moldova’s integration into the European family, which will contribute to changing attitudes.
