Vice director of Marculesti Free International Airport denies reports that Russian plane landed at airport
A plane with consumer goods from China landed at the Marculesti Free International Airport on Tuesday morning, the vice director of the free economic zone Boris Munteanu has told Info-Prim Neo. He denied that the plane came from Russia.
The informational portal Unimedia makes reference to sources close to the authorities, who wished to remain anonymous. The sources said that the plane that landed at about 10.00 was from Russia. By 11.00, the airport was full of police officers and representatives of the Security and Information Service. At about 13.00, two trucks arrived at the airport. They were loaded with goods from the plane.
“There are trees in the picture, but our airport is located in a steppe zone.
“Such information scares the potential residents of the free economic zone. When investors from the West read such news, they do not want to come to Moldova because they think that there is a war in our country,” Boris Munteanu said.
The newspaper Ziarul de Garda on July 22 reported that another airplane from Russia landed at the airport in Marculesti and left nightsticks, shields and other equipment for the police.
