The bacteria Vibrio cholerae was detected in Vadul lui Vodă town of the municipality of Chisinau, chief health officer Boris Gîlca announced in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN rapports.

“There were collected six water samples in three points – the beach in Vadul lui Vodă, the beach in Vatra town and the Byk River. The bacteria Vibrio cholerae was found in two samples taken from the beach in Vadul lui Vodă,” stated Boris Gîlca

He noted that those who want to sunbathe and to swim there must be warned to obey the minimum hygiene rules and to take a shower after bathing.

As many as 345 cases of infectious diseases, primarily acute diarrheal infections, enterovirus infections and food poisonings, were recorded in Chisinau last week. Ninety-two persons were hospitalized with such diseases.
