The War Veterans Union of Moldova reconfirmed its support for the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”. The veterans did it following press reports about their withdrawal from the Platform, IPN reports.

In a press briefing, executive director of the War Veterans Union Gheorghe Slutu said the decision was taken in the meeting of the Union’s National Council by a majority of votes.

The veterans also demanded that the current government should resign, early parliamentary elections should be initiated and that the four "political prisoners" who took part in the Platform’s April 24 protest should be immediately acquitted.
