Veronica Dragalin wins contest for post of Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office chief

The Superior Council of Prosecutors decided that the contest to fill the post of chief prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office was won by Veronica Dragalin, Minister of Justice Sergiu Litvinenco, who is a member of the Council, announced.

“Congratulations to Missis Dragalin for her excellent performance at the pre-selection stage before the special commission and at the selection stage before the Council,” said the minister.

The candidate is to be confirmed to the post by the acting prosecutor general, IPN reports.

Veronica Dragalin is a deputy prosecutor in the Public Corruption and Civil Rights Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Central District of California. She has a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Virginia School Of Law. She was nominated for the Young Federal Attorney National Award and the First Rank Attorney Award for federal justice women. She speaks Romanian, English, Spanish, Russian, German and Italian.
