Eugen Molovata will replace Danut Oprea as coach of Veris Chisinau, who tendered his resignation after suffering a 0-3 defeat to Sheriff. Molovata will make his debut as the main coach in a match of Moldova’s Cup on October 30, IPN reports.
Until recently, Eugen Molovata worked as Danut Oprea’s assistant at Veris. In his career, the 31-year-old coach served as main coach at Zimbru-2 four seasons ago. Before coming to Veris, he worked at the Sheriff Football Academy.
Contacted by IPN, Danut Oprea said that he may return to Veris. “I will discuss with the team’s management the next few days. I’m near Veris and we move on,” he stated.
Danut Oprea promoted Veris to the National Division and qualified the team for the final of Moldova’s Cup, which Veris lost to FC Tiraspol.
