Veris and Tiraspol to play in Moldova’s Cup final

Veris Chisinau is the first Division A team that will compete in the final of Moldova’s Football Cup. On May 7, the leader of the second echelon eliminated trophy holder Milsami Orhei from the competition. The winner was decided in overtime, where Veris beat Milsami 2-1, IPN reports.

Milsami is the third upper echelon team eliminated by Veris this season, after Olimpia Balti and Dacia Chisinau.

Only two years after founded, the team trained by Danuy Oprea is close to being promoted to the National Division and to representing Moldova in Europa League. For this to happen, Veris must get the required license and win Moldova’s Cup.

In the other semifinal, FC Tiraspol won against Sheriff Tiraspol 2-1. Romanian fullback Bogdan Hausi scored the victory goal in the 98th minute in overtime. FC Tiraspol will compete in the final of Moldova’s Cup for the first time.

The final will take place at Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on May 26, starting at 8pm.
