A young man from Cantemir district got 20 years in jail for the double murder committed in Botanica district of Chisinau this September. Then, the bodies of two men aged 30 and 31 were found by the mother of one of these. The persecutors consider the sentence is too mild and will challenge it, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the incident happened in an apartment building situated on Trandafirilor St on September 2. The culprit and the victims got acquainted one the eve at a disco party in Chisinau, from where they went to the home of one of the victims. Profiting from the fact that the men fell asleep under the influence of alcohol, the culprit mortally stabbed the two and then stole things estimated at over 37,000 lei from the apartment.

The culprit was identified and arrested shortly afterward and was held on remand until his conviction. He is 20 and is investigated in four more criminal cases started over burglaries.
