The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases completed the investigation into the “Vento” case. The injured parties and those accused of fabricating the case by order familiarize themselves with the evidence collected by prosecutors before seconding the case to court, IPN reports, quoting the Proctor General’s Office.
In this case, the ex-chief of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office Viorel Morari and an inferior of his were charged on four counts: “abuse of power”, “falsification of public documents”, “illegal detention or arrest” and “intentional holding of an innocent person accountable” – actions committed against the co-owners of the network of gas stations “Vento”.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said that at the end of last year, brothers Igor and Andrian Borș, co-owners of the “Vento” network, were rehabilitated after it was reached the conclusion that in 2018 they were persecuted, detained, arrested, dispossessed of property and illegally held accountable in a criminal case started by order.
The names of Andrian and Igor Borș are on the list of 38 criminal cases that were allegedly started as a result of political orders and that led to the illegal trying of a number of persons.
Viorel Morari pleads not guilty.
