Venezuela humble Moldova
The national football team of Moldova was humbled by Venezuela on Wednesday, May 23. The match, played in South America, ended 4-0 for the hosts, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The first half was evenly matched, with chances for both sides, but it was ultimately the hosts who managed to score just before the break. Luis Manuel Seijas caught goalkeeper Stanislav Namasco unprepared with long shot. Venezuela continued their momentum in the second half as Jose Rondon and Oswaldo Vizcarrondo netted for 3-0. Even if they relaxed as the final whistle neared, the hosts still managed to bag one more as Rondon took his second goal.
“The result is unfair. The first goal demoralized us. Moreover, the fatigue of such a long trip affected the boys' game in the second half. We also missed some important players. We need to recover in time for the El Salvador fixture on May 26. We hope to come back with a good result”, declare coach Ion Caras.
This was Caras' first defeat since he returned at the helm of the national team in winter. On May 26, the Tricolors will play El Salvador in Dallas, USA.
