VeloHora has gathered 8,000 cyclists

The VeloHora festival which took place on Sunday, September 23, has brought together around 8,000 cyclists who participated in several competitions in the Great National Assembly Square and rode tens of kilometers throughout the city of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. Chisinau police chief Silviu Musuc told the City Hall's ordinary meeting on Monday that the manifestation went generally well, with the exception of two traffic accidents which were caused by the cyclists on the streets Hancesti and Dinamo. No one of the cyclists involved required hospitalization. The VeloHora Festival was organized for the fourth time by the Moldovan Cycling Federation and by the Ecological Movement. The event was concluded by a show in the Great National Assembly Square, which hosted the bands “Zdob si Zdub” and “Cuibul”. Last year’s edition was tragically marked by the death of a 12-year-old that was hit by a car when he was on his way home.
