Experienced and amateur cyclists are invited to contend in the “Velo Road Chisinau” marathon that will take place on August 4. The municipality said the event is meant to promote a healthy lifestyle and the active participation of young people from Chisinau, popularizing cycling and alternative transport, IPN reports.

The competition will start at 9:00 a.m., from near the Chisinau City Hall. The contenders will move along Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd and will head towards UNIC Shopping Center. There, they will return and ride towards Ion Creangă St, then toward “La izvor” Park and will stop at the Buiucani Youth Center.

The people who want to contend must fill out a form. The participants are asked to wear a helmet and knee pads for safety, to check the technical condition of the bicycle/scooter before the event and to take drinking water with them.

Fees for participation in the marathon are not charged.
