Two vehicles caught fire on Monday, June 16, because of reasons known so far. The press office of the Civil Protection and Emergency Service, Liliana Puscasu, has told Info-Prim Neo the question is about trucks in both cases. At about 15.00, the engine of a MAN truck caught fire as it was running on the Chisinau-Cimislia motorway, near Rezeni village. The firemen managed to reach the place shortly and to extinguish the fire. They believe the fire would jave been caused bu a short circuit. Another case happened in a parking lot in Balti. An IVECO truck caught fire as it was parked. It burnt completely till the fire crew came. It was loaded with construction materials. The firemen managed to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading onto nearby vehicles. 69 vehicles have caught fire in Moldova this year. Liliana Puscasu says the drivers shall functioning extinguishers and check their vehicles as often as possible. 928 fires have been registered in Moldova this year, and 78 in June only.
