Vehicle registration sections in Rybnitsa and Tiraspol reopened

The vehicle registration sections in Rybnitsa and Tiraspol that were closed on September 1 reopened on October 1, as the sector working group for developing road transport and infrastructure agreed, IPN reports.

The Reintegration Policies Bureau said the participants in the meeting held online also agreed to make a common visit to the two sections next week so as to collect facts.

Chisinau reiterated the necessity of annulling the so-called road taxes, which it considers illegal and discriminatory, for motor vehicles with license numbers of the Republic of Moldova that enter the Transnistrian region.

The two vehicle registration sections situated in the Transnistrian region started work on September 1, 2018. About 4,000 vehicles have been registered meanwhile, being issued with neutral-design license plates (three letters and three digits). These enable the vehicles from the Transnistrian region to enter international road traffic. Recently, the Moldovan authorities decided to extend the registration process for another two years.
