Vegetable oil extraction factory in Bender resumes operations
The vegetable oil extraction factory in Bender resumed operations after an 8-year freeze and produced a first batch of sunflower and grist oils. The investors spent over $4 million on the refurbishment of the factory, Info-Prim Neo learned from Olvia Press agency.
Investor Iurie Druker said that he invested thrice the sum he planned initially. This week, the first soy lot was brought from Ukraine and will be used as raw mater for oil extraction.
The production plan is to process over 130,000 tonnes of sunflower, soy and rape yearly. The necessary raw matter will be obtained from both banks of the Nistru and from Ukraine. 90% of the production will be exported.
The first lot of sunflower grist was supplied to the poultry farm in Dubasari. In the future, it is planned to produce granulated grist. An elevator of 2000 cubic meters has been for this purpose.
Currently, the oil extraction factory in Bender has 250 workers, while in July it had only 40.
