Veaceslav Iordan forced out of apartment occupied by force
The apartment occupied abusively by the former acting mayor of Chisinau, the candidate for Chisinau mayor of the Communists Party in the 2007 local elections Veaceslav Iordan was given to a family with five children at the insistence of the City Hall.
According to the Legal Division head Diana Gurschi, the three-room apartment situated at 7 Plaiului Street was occupied by Iordan by force. He asked that the apartment be given to him, but his application was rejected as he was not in the list of persons who need dwellings urgently because he owns a house. The City Hall in cooperation with Moldova's Railways managed to evict Veaceslav Iordan and offered the apartment to the Moldovanu couple, who has 5 children, including triplets, Diana Gurschi said.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that was a case of successful implementation of the democratic rules and of the law. Moldova's Railways had to accept the change of the apartment's owner. In this connection, Chirtoaca reminded that the Domnisor family was in a similar situation as it was allocated an apartment that was used by the former Minister of the Interior Gheorghe Papuc for personal purposes.
