Veaceslav Iordan: Chisinau residents are not conscious

The residents of the capital city are not conscious and do not wish for the better, Veaceslav Iordan, the candidate for mayor on behalf of the Party of Communists, told Info-Prim Neo. According to Iordan, the vote given on June 3 was political rather than for the welfare of the city. At the same time, the candidate thinks his results in the elections are very good. “Considering the fact that I had such famous and wealthy opponents as members of parliament and an ex-prime-minister, the first place that I got is a very good result”, Iordan mentioned. Referring to the election campaign, Veaceslav Iordan said that his opponents committed even more violations. He also said that all those 18 candidates were against him. According to the most recent preliminary results of the June 3 elections, after 92.98% of the ballots were processed, Veaceslav Iordan got 28.22% of the votes; Dorin Chirtoaca of the Liberal Party received 24.43%. The third and the fourth places are occupied by Leonid Bujor (“Moldova Noastra” Alliance) – 9.46% and Vladimir Filat (Democrat Party) – 8.35%. Based on these results, Veaceslav Iordan and Dorin Chirtoaca will run in the second round elections.
