Veaceslav Ionita makes new accusations concerning thefts at BEM

The firm of the nephew of the Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat on October 3 stole 9 million lei from Banca de Economii (BEM), the head of the Parliament’s commission on economy, budget and finance Veaceslav Ionita wrote on his facebook page, IPN reports.

“A simple inspection that the National Anticorruption Center can organize in several minutes will show that I’m right,” stated the MP, noting that the state institutions do not take steps either because they are accomplices to what is taking place or received orders from their political chiefs.

“Evidently, Filat and Plahotniuc reached certain agreements and these agreements will paralyze all the investigation bodies.”

Veaceslav Ionita said that this week he had a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, who expressed interest in this subject. But they also expressed their concern about what is happening at the BEM. “Sooner or later, the state institutions will have to explain this case,” he stated.

Earlier, Veaceslav Ionita said that over 450 million lei was taken from the BEM illegally with the involvement of the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party. Vlad Filat denied the accusations, saying he will sue Veaceslav Ionita for slander.
