Businessman Veaceaslav Platon said he will not be set free from penitentiary until the law enforcement bodies identify the persons who had been really involved in the bank fraud and collect pertinent evidence. The businessman developed the issue in the talk show “Natalia Morari’s Politics” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.
He noted that after being interrogated within the three criminal cases started against Vladimir Plahontiuc, he asked the authorities when he could be set free. “They told me that the information should be verified. What is there to be verified here? They could have checked it during two-three days. It was the end of January then.”
Veaceaslav Platon related that he was very disappointed when he was told that he will not be released, even if he was innocent. They said they have to first prove not only his innocence, but also who is to blame and to collect the necessary evidence.
The businessman noted that he took part in the identification of evidence showing that the former Democratic leader is to blame. He said he is an expert in banking and could describe all the employed schemes so that things went faster. “We demonstrated that the company Zenit belongs to Plahotniuc and Shor. All the money received by Zenit from Banca de Economii through Victoriabank reached the two,” stated Veaceslav Platon.
On May 18, Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo announced that Vladimir Plahotniuc is one of the main beneficiaries of the bank fraud and that the case against Veaceslav Platon was fully fabricated and a procedure for reviewing his sentence will be initiated.
