The Party of Communists’ candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Vasili Chirtoca said he is not concerned about politics and is not a party member and does not intend to become one. In the talk show “Friday with Anatolie Golea” on RTR Moldova channel, Chirtoca stated that after he is elected mayor, he will deal with the administration-related problems that he noted down during many years when travelling through Chisinau, IPN reports.
Vasili Chirtoca said he does not want to divide the residents of Chisinau municipality according to their political orientations and the decisions concerning problems faced in the city must not be adopted based on the political doctrines because the existing doctrines are primitive. Whole quarters in the capital city are being degraded and the dwellers fear a new construction will appear overnight in front of their houses or in green areas. There are a lot of vehicles in courts, but solutions to all the problems exist and these can be solved in a rather short period of time.
The candidate noted that better organization is needed to deal with particular problems and these can be solved with little money. Science should be revitalized so that the scientists formulate efficient strategies for a good organization of the municipal bodies. The parking lots in central Chisinau will be banned, except for parking garages. These will be transferred to the outskirts and will be modernized, but will not be free of charge.
Vasili Chirtoca also said that a new law should be adopted concerning the functioning of the municipality of Chisinau, while the powers of the mayor should be extended. The general urbanistic plan must be updated with the assistance of professionals.
Born in 1958, Vasile Chirtoca now controls the largest network of auto companies in Moldova, being the manager of Daac Hermes Company.
