Vasile Tarlev wants to extend the categories of persons insured from public coffers

Prime minister Vasile Tarlev proposes to enlarge the categories of persons who will benefit of medical insurance from the state budget, including parents taking care of children, invalids of I degree, as well as mothers with many children. This proposal was made on Tuesday, 4 of April, during the meeting on efficient implementation of obligatory medical insurance system. According to the Government press service, Vasile Tarlev appreciated positively the implementation of the obligatory medical insurance mechanism, but noted certain problems at the same time, including the fact that certain categories of socially disadvantaged persons still do not benefit from insurances. Prime deputy manager of National Company of Medical Insurances, Mircea Buga informed that, within the Unique Program 2006, about 1,5 million persons benefit from state insurance, including retired old people, minors, people with disabilities etc. For financial coverage of the volume for medical assistance provided to persons insured by the state almost 1 billion lei is allotted his year.
