Vasile Tarlev seeks better mechanisms for implementing law on access to information
A new course titled “Right to Know Hour” could be taught in the education establishments of the country. Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev asked the Ministry of Education and Youth to examine such a possibility.
The initiative forms part of the activities organised to celebrate the Right to Know Days at the end of September in concert with nongovernmental organisations. In this connection, the Premier instructed the ministries and other central administrative authorities to improve the mechanism for implementing the law on access to information.
Tarlev said that the information about the activity of the ministries, governmental departments, offices and agencies must be published in the press. He also said that the information on the official websites should be regularly updated.
Under an order by the Prime Minister, the central administration authorities will hold news conferences, open door days and other activities intended to inform the general public about their activity.
The Right to Know Days, an initiative by “Acces-Info” Centre, are held in Chisinau on September 28 simultaneously with the International Right to Know Day.
